Elm Class Gallery

Our focus artist this term was Picasso. We have created our own portraits inspired by his work.

We dressed up in some amazing costumes on World Book Day, and enjoyed reading lots of different stories.

We took part in a litter-picking workshop in March, and cleaned up our local area. We found some pieces of rubbish that were over 30 years old!

In DT this term we have made sandwiches...

... and delicious fruit jellies.

We love role-playing, exploring, and being creative in our Forest School area.

In Design Technology, we have been designing, making and evaluating sliders and levers

We have been investigating everyday materials during our science lessons. We found out which materials were the most protective during our Egg Drop Challenge!

In art, we have been looking at the work of Harriet Peck Taylor and creating our own nature-inspired batiks.

In English, we explored the story Who's Afraid of the Light? by Anna McGregor. We then thought of our own deep-sea creatures, wrote some amazing descriptions, and put them together to make our own midnight zone aquarium.

We have been learning how to program simple robots called Bee-Bots by giving them a set of commands.

In maths, we use concrete resources to support our learning. Here we are using Base 10 to partition 2-digit numbers into tens and ones.

We love exploring our outdoor learning area!
