Break
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive a piece of fruit or a vegetable under the Government Funded School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme. Our preschool children and children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are encouraged to bring into school a small piece of fresh fruit or vegetable sticks to have during morning break time.

Lunch School meals are encouraged as a healthy and balanced option and are provided by the Deli at Pershore. Hot lunches are available every day based on a 3-week menu rotation, along with a selection of cold lunch options. 

Your child can also choose to bring a packed lunch if they would prefer. We kindly ask if your child is bringing a lunch from home, that you follow the packed lunch guidance within our Food and Nutrition Policy.

Free School Meals – All pupils in Reception, Y1 and Y2 automatically receive free school meals as part of the Universal Free School Meals Programme. Some children may qualify for Free School Meals if their families receive certain benefits or meet specific criteria. 

For further information about Free School Meals, to check eligibility and apply online, please visit Apply for free school meals | Worcestershire County Council. If you already have a Parent Portal Live account (previously named the Citizen Portal) you can log in to your account by clicking here. 

If you do not currently have a Parent Portal Live account, please follow the on-screen instructions to register an account.

Once you have applied, your eligibility for free school meals will be checked using the Government’s automated Eligibility Checking System (ECS) and will be processed by the Free School Meal team. If you qualify for a free school meal, a message will be sent to you confirming your free school meal award and the school will be contacted. 

If your child attends our Preschool, you may be eligible for Nursery Free School Meals. Drinks
Drinks Children should bring a clearly labelled water bottle to school with them each day. We encourage children to only fill their water bottles with water. We have a water cooler in school which children can use to refill their bottles throughout each day.

In addition to their water bottle children may also bring a separate drink in their lunchbox to have at lunchtime. Such as pure fruit juice (no added sugar), semi-skimmed or skimmed milk, reduced fat and reduced sugar yoghurt, milk drinks or smoothies. No fizzy drinks.

Milk

Fladbury Primary School provides a milk scheme through Cool Milk that is available to all our pupils. Milk is free for under 5s and subsidised for pupils aged 5 and over. 

Each pupil who registers with Cool Milk will receive a drink of semi-skimmed milk every day, delivered fresh and chilled to school.  If applicable, payment is made directly to Cool Milk.

We automatically order milk for all children in Pre-School and Reception who are under the age of 5. If you would like your child to continue to have milk at school after this date, you will need to set up an account with Cool Milk.
